Coach Joe Woodruff Coach Woodruff has coached high school football for 22 years: 20 years in Michigan, 1 year in Port Charlotte, Florida and now entering his second season at NWHS. Coach Woodruff has a track record of turning around football programs. He served as Head Coach of Comstock Park High School in Comstock Park, MI for 8 years and before that was Head Coach of Chippewa Hills High School in Remus, Mich. He developed a tradition of winning at both schools. He has received coach of the year honors from both his conference and his region. He graduated from Albion College, MI with his BS degree and received his MS degree from Grand Valley State University, MI. Coach Woodruff teaches history at NWHS. Coach Woodruff is married to Patti and has two children: Abbey and Brady.

Coach Greg Simmons Coach Simmons has coached football for 9 years. He coached at Randleman HS and is in his 3rd season at Northwest Guilford as Defensive Coordinator. He is a graduate of Harding Univiersity. He will teach Social Studies at NWHS. He is married to Tricia and has 2 children: Gregory and Brandent.

Coach Ron Bare Coach Ron Bare has coached for 19 seasons at Northwest Guilford. He will coach the running backs this year. He will teach PE at NWHS. He is a graduate of Elon College where he wrestled. He is married to Vicki and has a dog named Otis.

Coach Jim Scott Coach Scott has coached football for 5 years, 2 years at Kernodle MS, 2 years at Western Guilford HS and entering his second season. He is a graduate of Clemson University. He played for the NY Giants and NY Jets in the NFL. He played for the Orlando Renegades in the USFL. He is currently the Youth Pastor at Cornerstone Baptist Church. He is married to Kim and has 4 children.

Coach Dan Bobro Coach Bobro is entering his 12th year of coaching. He has coached at: Baldwin-Wallace College, OH ; Montaur HS, PA ; Maple Heights HS, OH ; Hernando HS, FL ; Port Charlotte, FL. This is his 2nd year at NWHS. He will be coaching the offensive line. He will be teaching Special Education. He graduated from Baldwin-Wallace College, OH where he played defensive line. He played one year at Charleston Southern University before transferring to Baldwin-Wallace.

Coach Todd Murphy Coach Murphy is entering his 2nd season coaching linebackers and running backs. He has also coached baseball for the past 2 seasons. He is a Civil Engineer. He is a graduate of East Forsyth and GTCC. He is married to Amy and has 1 child: Tara.

Coach Steve Oele Coach Oele coached for 7 years at Comstock HS, MI. This is his 2nd year at NWHS. He will be coaching the Quarterbacks. He will be teaching Social Studies. He is a graduate of Grand Valley State University, MI.

John Hughes Athletic Director - - - Coach Hughes has been the Athletic Director since August 2003. Coach Hughes graduated from Duke University in 1995, where he played baseball. He began teaching in the Social Studies Department in August of 1995. At Northwest High, he has successfully coached soccer, basketball, and baseball. Coach Hughes became the Varsity Baseball Coach in 2000 after six years of coaching JV Baseball.
